Mondon: Upgrade of cast film lines

FRANCE St Pal de Mons-based Mondon, winding and converting machines, upgrade thermoforming film extrusion cast with state-of-the-art winders which increase production capacity and save energy at the same time. The turret winders TW Series offer a flying change facility, which means that a new roll begins automatically when the other one is finished/full. The automatic change avoids a complete stop of the line, spares the use of an accumulator and the operator simply loads new cores and unloads wound rolls.

Mondon, winding and converting machines, designed compact turret winders of only 4 metres length which are approximately half of that of the older models. The reduced size also reduces the need for maintenance. Thanks to its smart design, this winder can accept both 3” and 6” cores. A slitting system can also be installed in-line as option for narrower bobbins which can be an alternative to jumbo rolls.  The machines by Mondon are reported to be compact and versatile and can also be applied on existing lines.

The assistance for roll unloading and automatic core loading avoids the operator a repetitive task. Moreover, automatic handling is safer for the operators and allows them to manage several production lines at the same time.
