CANADA Macro has developed a coextrusion line for producing biaxially-oriented sausage casings. The line can be configured to produce coextrusion casing structures up to 11 layers using Nylon, PE and EVOH. It can also be extended to allow processing of structures with PVdC. It produces casings with width callipers of 80–120 mm (3.1–4.7”) and thicknesses ranging from 40–50 micron. The line operates at speeds up to 170 m/min (558 fpm).
