USA • Film manufacturer Jindal Films Americas LLC has announced a huge investment of about USD 180 million in biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film in Georgia, USA. The plant is one of the sites they acquired from ExxonMobil Chemical three years ago.
According to Jindal, the relocation will create 240 new jobs. To support this consolidation, JFA plans to expand its existing facility. A 10.5 m (34.4 ft) orientation line will be installed at the end of 2016 (Q4), increasing capacity by more than 50,000 to/year. The metallizer is expected to start-up in Q3, 2016 and is set to add10,000 tonnes of metallization capacity.
According to Jindal Films Americas, they currently have two film manufacturing facilities and a combined headquarters and R&D cetre in the USA employing about 500 people. 200 employees are already located in LaGrange.
